I’m a 48yo mom of two boys living in NJ. I was diagnosed with ACC (adnoid cystic carcinoma) while in my 9th month of pregnancy in 2003. ACC is very rare form of cancer for which there is no cure. ACC is more about learning to live with cancer and remaining hopeful that a cure will come.

In 2007, almost at the infamous 5 year survivor mark, the cancer returned and took up home in my left lung.  Six months later, in my right.  Currently, I’m on a clinical trial of Yervoy and Optivo. Come Nov. 18th, I will have been fighting this disease for 19yrs.  I don’t know if that is a blessing or a curse.  Cancer has taken many things from my life. However, it has also shown me many lessons that changed the course of life. I gave us a loved career in Social Work and learned how to teach yoga to people whose lives who had been affected through a diagnosis of cancer. This is my new calling in life.

I’d like to be able to use this site as a way of meeting people. Cancer can be very isolating but it doesn’t have to be.  Cancer has given us the common ground from which we support one another as we move towards the day when we can come from a place in which cancer can no longer define us.
