Hi, 

I hope you’re doing well! 

Please note: I  travel often , therefore am limiting my participation here… to only those who have a “Descriptive Bio” posted AND who are living/visiting nearby!  (I’m not seeking chat-buddies; and I simply don’t have time to coax the basics out of you)!

I’m here on the lookout for compatible “in-person” friends with shared interests, who live in, or visit Northwest Florida (or  nearby) particularly fellow explorers, sailors, aviators, equestrians, RV’ers, campers, hikers, bikers, paddlers, divers, survivalists,  living history participants (SCA, LARP), etc…

I enjoy healthy activities and many interests… domestic, sportiff, academic, natural, cultural, scientific, etc  (especially anthropological, historical, geological, tech/engineering, health/medical/nutritional, industrial/agricultural), and much more!  (I’m not interested in pop culture, celebrities, politics, rap music; or  critics/cynics, negative, sarcastic or crude people).  I’m 420 friendly, but no heavy drinkers/drugs PLEASE!

I’m a semi-retired professional, educated and aware, who’s done ample travelling and service work worldwide.  Now retired (and a “survivor” of OCCA), I’m eager to see/tour “America the Beautiful” with a compatible teammate(s) who are likewise good natured, forthcoming, adventurous, unencumbered and self-supporting (able to share travel expenses, camp chores, adventures, gear, etc.).

If you’re simpatico, I’d love to learn about you, your interests, favorite activities/recreations, goals, status, compatibilities, etc.!  (So please be forthcoming in your bio)!

ME: I’m usually a happy, friendly, active, adventurous, flexible, studious, caring, compassionate being… An avid explorer seeking a similar person(s) to enjoy adventures with (cancer symptoms/treatment issues notwithstanding)!

MY HOMEBASE: Florida’s Panhandle (aka “The Emerald Coast”; half-way between Pensacola and Panama City)…  beautiful emerald waters and hundreds of miles of uncrowded/deserted white sand beaches to enjoy!

MY DISPOSITION: A “survivor” who’s always doing something fun, constructive, restorative and/or regenerating (from home improvements to yard/garden projects, to beaching, sailing, camping and other ventures)!  I’m often ‘away’ sightseeing and/or travelling near & far; meanwhile enjoying leisure time/activities, and “communing with nature” along the way!

ONGOING ADVENTURES: Exploring & camping in Northwest & Central Florida; Georgia, Tennessee & North Carolina; and the Ozark & Boston Mountains in Arkansas… for various special events, sightseeing, fun, frolic, foraging, camping, and recharging!  Meanwhile, I’m also scouting hurricane evacuation routes & destinations (prep for Florida’s hurricane season) throughout the Appalachian and Smokey Mountains, and ancestral Indian Lands (Georgia & Tennessee).

SHARING: I’m happy to share campsites, hikes, meals, gear, boats, friends, campfire cuisine, etc!  If you want to meet up, let me know  (and potentially, when/where)!  If you are in/near my homebase, lets meet, I may be able to host you for a few days!  Or, if you just have favorite places/activities/events you’d like to share, please drop me a personal note!

SCHEDULED EVENTS & LOCATIONS:  Horse & Art Shows, Rodeos & Regattas (FWB, PNS, MO, OC, CAR), French & Indian Camp (Fort Toulouse, AL), Highland Games (Linville, NC), Mountain & Music Festivals (Hot Springs & Ozarks, AR), Horse Shows (FL, GA, TN, KY), Fly-Ins (Lakeland FL; Oshkosh WI; perhaps Livermore & Frederick);   SCA, LARP  & other living history events across the SouthEast and beyond!  (When I know  your interests, I’ll provide the specifics for you to consider)!

MY BACKGROUND/LIFEPATH  (in a nut shell): I was raised with 2 brothers, as USAF military brats, in NJ, CA, VA, & NC and  Asia.  I’ve lived overseas most of my life since; home-based primarily in Asia and the Pacific (Japan, China, Indonesia, Hawaii, Pacific Islands+). I completed colleges in Florida & Hawaii; and schooled, worked, and explored Europe, the Middle East & South America, Australia, New Zealand; including years of tran- oceanic sailing across Astral-Asia & the Pacific. Recently relocated to Florida (to take care of family business).

RECENT TRIPS: To celebrate my “survival”, I’ve recently done 2 three-month camping/spa trips to Hot Springs, Arkansas (and the surrounding Ouachitas & Ozark Mts.); also trips into the Appalachians exploring natural & scenic wonders… (and enjoying the hot springs there as well… ohh, la, la, what a relief after 20 years of cancer pain!)

FUTURE PLANS: Sooner or later, I’ll do a Grand Tour (3-24 months) northwestward to Mammoth, then Wind Cave; Yellowstone & Tetons; Zion, Bryce & Grand Canyons; then Joshua Tree, Red Woods, Pacific Coast Highway, Calgary Stampede…which will require a larger RV and hopefully an eager partner!
