We Don’t Have A Surfboard But….
I saw a very interesting story that went viral earlier this year about a gentleman who lost someone close and was a surfer so he put his name on his surfboard and took his buddy surfing with him when ever he went surfing. He put the video of his idea on TikTok (if I remember correctly) and asked if anybody knew someone who died, that would like to go surfing with him and his buddy, to send him his or her name and he would put their name on his surfboard. Well, he called the project “One Last Wave” and the video went viral quickly . He was flooded with names to add to his surf board. So much so, he had to buy several more surfboards to handle the volume of people who wrote him. Here’s a link that shows his surfboard loaded with names……..https://www.tiktok.com/@onelastwave/video/7104475442786127146.
While I don’t have a surfboard or skateboard or any board to write names on, we do have a wall we could put people’s name on that will last until the site goes down.
Preferably, if you’ve met/known/cared about a person you met on Cancermatch that has passed away, please do add their name to the board. I think that small gesture will be appreciated long after we are gone.
